Daring Greatly and Rising Strong
Based on the Research of Dr. Brené Brown
Kristin Woodlock is a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, teaching individuals, groups and organization in the Daring Way™. The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings. During the process facilitators explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.
EMotional Dimensions of Healthcare™
The social determinants of health, health disparities, chronic disease management, serious mental health and adverse childhood experiences. What could these seemingly disparate phenomena have in common?
While health care in this country has advanced exponentially in its technical ability to diagnose and treat any number of profoundly complex and confounding diseases, we have failed to connect the dots that make us human and influence the choices we make every day that all too often lead to illness.
We believe the effects of traumatic experiences and toxic stress are some of the best documented, yet under recognized and undervalued drivers of poor health outcomes or health disparities in distressed communities, of unnecessary healthcare spending and of profound human suffering. There is an undeniable correlation between unhealthy behaviors, our emotions and our poor health outcomes.

Wondering what the target is for a successful nonprofit?
Health and human services have operated as an "agent of government" for over fifty years. This era is ending in many places, being replaced by a more retail market. Pursuit of the Triple Aim…better care- better quality-reduced costs… requires nonprofits to move to new operational and fiscal models. Models built for success - balancing heart, results and economics.
At Woodlock & Associates we have defined the characteristics, performance and structure of a Millennial Nonprofit Dinstinctiveness Wheel®. We have the knowledge and tools to help your agency adapt, grow and thrive in a value based world of retail healthcare as a Millennial Nonprofit®.
Nonprofit Vector Scan®
Knowledge is power. Do you know your material strengths and risk?
The Nonprofit Vector Scan® is an independently administered tool to assist nonprofit health and human services agencies in a robust and candid conversation about strengths, risks and priorities. The elements covered within the Nonprofit Vector Scan® are intentionally selected to cover common, high-challenge areas for nonprofits, items that can impact referrals, ability to achieve or communicate outcomes or actions that impact an agency’s “runway” to make changes. Given the intention of the Nonprofit Vector Scan® and the highly-stressed environment within which nonprofits operate, this tool is a powerful story-teller and guide to agencies for their future operation, consideration of due diligence in affiliations and in payers evaluating potential providers.
A holistic look at the agency's health from a financial, operational & quality perspective.
Routine balance sheets and annual financial statements are insufficient to project your financial future. Metrics for value based purchasing are materially different from length of visits or days of service. Woodlock & Associates is available to provide Boards and Management with an independent analysis of financial and/or clinical strengths and vulnerabilities.
Think of this as a review of systems, like an annual physical. We look to work with you confidentially to identify opportunities to maintain the Agency's health. We also have the ability to step in during significant crisis to assist in rapid assessment and options analysis.
Moving mountains in rapidly changing environments requires nonprofits to come to the table with solutions.
Choose Woodlock & Associates to work with your Agency to design solutions for value based purchasing that maintain your mission and drive results for the clients you serve. We can assist in clinical, program and fiscal design, as well as working with you to advance your vision with Government, Insurance and Foundation Funders.
Including clinical models and transition supports.
Consultation focused on helping clinicians and staff better navigate the world of managed care in a manner that also enhances your programs quality of care. Trainings will provide all levels of staffing with a clear and deeper understanding of the over-arching concepts of managed care.
Participants will gain an understanding of how to implement multidisciplinary treatment programs and services to meet the demands of managed care in an organized and goal directed manner. Clinicians will be trained in the benefits of and implementation of the appropriate evidenced bases services (i.e. DBT, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing / Stage Treatment for dual diagnosis, Wellness Self Management). The focus of evidenced based treatment programs is on providing the highest quality of care while simultaneously obtaining authorization for insurance coverage. Participants will become familiar with CBT and other evidenced based terminology in order to more effectively conceptualize cases, define patient goals, develop treatment interventions and measure patient progress. Attention will be paid to assisting staff in focusing on providing the highest quality of care in a changing environment, as well as coping with the uncertainty and challenges that this paradimatic shift presents.
Strategic Planning & Leadership Coaching
Having a plan seems like a great idea. Lifetime learners make the strongest leaders.
Consider investing in an external mentor to develop new C-suite or Senior Leaders or to enhance the ability of long term leaders to balance the "here and now" with rapid changes in the health and human service delivery system. Coaching is also available for Associations and for Leadership Retreats/Development Days.
